A message from Arkansas Supreme Court Justice, Jim Hannah:

I want to personally invite you to visit the Justice Building in Little Rock.

One of the most interesting ways to see how the judiciary works is to attend an oral argument. When a case is appealed from the trial court, the parties may ask the Supreme Court or Court of Appeals to allow them to argue their cases in person.

Oral arguments generally begin at 9 on Thursdays for the Supreme Court and Wednesdays at 9 for the Court of Appeals. I encourage you to watch in person, but if you cannot, we stream the arguments on our website. Past arguments are also available in the archives if you want to watch a particular case.

Be sure to visit the Plan Your Visit page on our website to learn more and schedule a tour.

On behalf of judges across the state, we appreciate you taking the time to learn about the Judicial Branch. Our system of government only works well if its citizens like you are informed, and participate in our democracy. The work of the courts is impossible without your trust and confidence. I commend you for taking an active role in learning more about your government.
